Lake Russell Baptist Church is located near Elberton, Georgia, and is a member of the Southern Baptist Convention, The Georgia Baptist Convention and the Hebron Baptist Association.  In 1st John 5, we read these words; "Whoever is born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has over come the world-- our faith. Who is he who overcomes the world, but he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?" Have you ever seen a chicken soaring high in the sky like an eagle? No! And you have never seen an eagle scratching in the dirt like a Chicken. Why? Because they are two different creatures. Chickens were designed to scratch in the dirt while eagles were designed to soar! In the same way, Christians are different from non-Christians! In the bible God teaches that His children can run and not get weary, and that we can walk and not faint! He also teaches that if we trust Him, then we can soar  high above this world with wings like eagles! While non-Christians scratch around for temporary pleasure that will one day shrivel away like an earth worm exposed to the sun! At Lake Russell Baptist Church, we believe that Jesus is the Son of God, in Him we have a genuine superiority that will give us overwhelming success, we will be over-comers! Christ is eternal and superior to earthly life! Please know that eternal life is not about a time period, it is about a relationship with Christ!
